"Drive-Through" Information for NEW FAMILIES
to CGMA 2020-2021 School Year


NEW FAMILIES FOR THE 2020-2021 we will conduct a "Drive-Through " on May 19, 2020 between 10:30 a.m.--12:00 p.m. During this time, you will receive information about the upcoming 2020-2021 school year.

The procedure for picking up information will be as follows:

  • Parents will enter the driveway of the school on the rear side, which is Fifth Street.
  • Drive in the right lane of the driveway until you arrive under the covered walkway. You will then exit on North King Avenue.
  •  The front passenger seat should be empty. 
  • The front passenger window should be down to ensure the Brown Envelope may easily be placed on the empty seat. 
  • Please create a sign that displays your children's first and last names. Display the sign on the right side of the windshield. 
  • To ensure the safety of everyone, staff will be wearing masks. We invite you to wear a mask for safety measures as well.
  • Everyone is to remain inside of the vehicle at all times.

If you are unable to come by during this time, please contact or email Ms. Ashley at 225-258-5401 or aboyd@sjpsb.org. Any information not collected during this time, will be mailed to you.                                       

"Drive-Through Assembly" Information 2019-2020 Students

Greetings CGMA family!  With the guidance from our District, we will conduct a "Drive-By Assembly" on May 18, 2020.  During this time, you will receive any personal items left by the student, End-of-the Year Certificates, report cards, and information about the upcoming 2020-2021 school year.

The procedure for picking up items will be as follows:

  • Students whose last names begin with A-L, will drive by between 9-10:30 a.m. 
  • Students whose last names begin with M-Z, will drive by between
    10:30 a.m.-12:00 p.m. 
  • All children within the same family may pick up their items at the same time.
  • Parents will follow the bus rider pick-up/drop-off lane. 
  • The front passenger seat should be available to where the bagged items may be easily placed.
  • The front passenger window should be down to ensure the items may easily be placed on the empty seat. 
  • Please create a sign that displays your children's first and last names. Display the sign on the right side of the windshield. 
  • To ensure the safety of everyone, staff will be wearing masks. We invite you to wear a mask for safety measures as well.
  • Everyone is to remain inside of the vehicle at all times.

If your child has items to be returned to school, such as library books, reading books, etc., please inform the staff as you drive up.  We will collect them.

If you are unable to come during your assigned time, please contact your child’s teacher or email Ms. Ashley at aboyd@sjpsb.org.  Any items and awards not collected during this time, will be held until students return in August.  Report cards that are not collected will be mailed home.

April 22, 2020 message--We hope that each of our students and families are doing well!  The staff misses each of you!  Today is Earth Day!  Show us how you are celebrating Earth Day!  We would love to see a picture or a video of you!  This is not mandatory, just for fun!  We wish each of you  a blessed day!

"The Home Learning Resources have been updated for April 14 - April 30.  We have added a video that will help navigate you through the updates.  We are anticipating a new proclamation from the Governor about school closures beyond April 30.  Once the new proclamation is official and the State Department of Education releases their updates and guidelines based on the new proclamation, we will put out additional information for May and beyond.  We appreciate your patience and trust as we plan for all students in St. James during these challenging times.  To watch the tutorial video or visit the COVID-19 website please click the links below."
