Leah Valdez

Dear Parent/Guardian,

Welcome to the 2016-2017 school year!  I hope that you and your child had a super summer.  My name is Leah Valdez and I have been teaching children for fifteen years.  I have been at Lutcher Elementary School for the past two years and I am excited and blessed to return.

Our school’s theme for this year is  “Together is Better."   Through ongoing and effective communication, your child will have a very successful school year!  Each day, I will come prepared for instruction, provide standards-based, multi-mode learning opportunities, assess your child weekly, and communicate his/her progress.  Your child will participate in class discussions, complete class and homework assignments, while demonstrating positive behavior.  Please monitor and sign your child's homework/behavior report and communicate your concerns to his/her homeroom teacher or me.

This year, students will be served in both inclusion (special education teacher in the general ed. classroom) and resource room settings. When we each accept and complete our roles, your child will achieve her/his goals. Thank you for all you do in your role as a parent and I look forward to working with you!

Yours in Education,

Leah Valdez
